Welcome to the InformationSTAT campaign web site. This site was developed by Health2 Resources to offer communications tools to those interested in educating consumers and community stakeholders about the importance of health information exchange (HIE) enabled by use of the electronic medical record. This public site shares a Media/Education Kit. This campaign was developed by Health2 Resources in support of the work currently being done by the eHealth Initiative through the Gulf Coast Health Information Technology project.
The InformationSTAT campaign has been created to raise awareness at the community level among consumers and other stakeholders about the urgency and need for rapid development of a system for sharing secure electronic medical information among qualified healthcare providers across communities and across states. Only about one in four physicians now uses electronic medical records. However, according to the eHealth Initiatives 2006 survey, many communities are in the early stages of implementing health information exchange systems to share medical information electronically among healthcare providers.
Raising awareness among various community stakeholders will be essential to the continued growth and expansion of these efforts. Therefore, communication and education tools, media and ad campaign material, research findings and other information will be made available to local communities and added to this site. This material may be used by community collaboratives based on the specifications outlined on this site.
We invite you to read and review what the Gulf Coast Media/Education Kit Working Group has developed. The site was designed to serve as a distribution center for access to communications materials created as part of the InformationSTAT campaign. The campaign materials were designed for use at the local, state or regional level. Campaign tools are divided into the following sections:
I.Partnership Outreach
Tools for partnership outreach
II. Media Outreach
Tools for press outreach
III. Ad Campaign
Print, radio, billboard campaign tools
And to assist you in community outreach we have written five "real life" case examples that show use of secure electronic health information exchange among physicians, patients and public health officials. The case examples were created to offer you support material as you educate key audiences about the use and application of secure electronic health information exchange.
We put together this site with an easy-to-use interface and will continue to improve your online experience. This web site was made possible by Contract HHSP23320054104EE from the US Department of Health and Human Services to the Foundation for eHealth Initiative.
